The Sawyer Law Firm, LLC has been in New London representing individuals and businesses since 1995. The firm concentrates in real estate closings, general
litigation (including eminent domain, environmental and personal injury), small business and personal representation, will preparation, probate contests and
child protection. The firm has been involved in thousands of real estate closings and has represented its clients from the local trial courts to the United States Supreme Court. "We pride ourselves in providing honest, purposeful and informative legal services", says attorney Scott Sawyer.

Scott Sawyer, Attorney and Owner: Scott Sawyer is a unique commodity in the sea of a thousand lawyers. He can relate to being both a client and an attorney. He enjoys real estate closings as well as his trial work.

"I recognize the financial and emotional toll upon a client when the legal system intrudes into their lives, whether buying or selling a home or business, or deciding whether to commence, prosecute, defend or settle a lawsuit. I was a client for seven years and I hope by advising individuals and businesses to make rational choices based on sound economic and legal reasoning much of the discomfort of being a client can be avoided." While results can't be guaranteed, Attorney Sawyer's desire is to make the client comfortable through the process to the best of his ability.

Scott Sawyer began his legal career by 'putting up a shingle.' As is the case with many young solo-practitioners, he had a general practice and found himself focusing on many areas of the law. Over the years Scott has added attorneys and refined his personal practice to real estate closings, personal injury, environmental litigation, eminent domain defense and valuation proceedings and also represents many local businesses.

The first case Scott tried as an independent attorney was against the United States Department of Transportation. The case involved an environmental whistleblower. The whistleblower was completely stymied by a military chain of command when attempting to report an environmental cleanup site.

Scott protects those who go against the grain of government. He is currently representing the citizens of New London who are involved in eminent domain and environmental cases against the city and state. Attorney Sawyer was at the argument table for the seminal eminent domain case which was heard by the United States Supreme Court.
